Find the Children is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on the recovery of missing children and the prevention of child abduction. Founded in 1983 by television producer Linda Otto, the organization was born as a pioneering effort to use media to locate missing youth.
Today, the group provides vital assistance to families by helping them navigate law enforcement systems, legal documentation, and community resources. They offer a specialized Reunification Program designed to reduce the trauma of abduction and support a successful transition back into the home.
Beyond recovery efforts, Find the Children is heavily invested in proactive safety education. Since 1999, they have reached hundreds of thousands of students through free stranger-safety programs in schools. These initiatives equip children with the knowledge to recognize and avoid dangerous situations.
By bridging the gap between parents, law enforcement, and the media, the organization remains a steadfast advocate for child safety. Their work continues to provide a beacon of hope for families searching for their missing loved ones. Through both intervention and prevention, Find the Children strives to create a world where every child is safe and protected.
