Kids Need More is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families & young adults coping with cancer and life-threatening illness by creating Camp Adventure (CA). CA is a camp for kids with cancer and their siblings to attend free of charge for a fun week where they can interact with others experiencing the same challenges. Camp is a week where they can forget that they are sick because the entire week is filled with fun activities. Since Kids Need More was founded, they have expanded the camp program to offer year round activities from the love and support they received from families and volunteers. They have attended opening day at the Yankees, have picnics in the park and visit children in the hospitals just to name a few additional activities.

New Heights Educational Group, Inc., promotes literacy for children and adults by offering a range of educational support services. Such services include the following: assisting families in the selection of schools; organization of educational activities; and acquisition of materials. They provide fill-in-the-gap, one-on-one tutoring for youth and adults. All teachers and students are required to meet three hours a week over a three-day period. They found that fill-in-the-gap type tutoring is necessary in order to reach students that have been left behind in traditional settings. Promoting a healthy learning environment and various enrichment programs for families of preschool and school-age children, including children with special needs, make it a one-stop-shop in education.

Weight of the Fox Valley (WOTFV) is a community health initiative, partnering with organizations from various sectors to collaborate and align efforts toward building a healthier community.

Obesity is a major health problem and continues to lead the way as a priority among community health partners. WOTFV works to increase physical activity and improve nutrition in youth and adults, with a goal to reduce overweight and obesity rates among the Fox Valley population of nearly 400,000 people. Improving nutrition and physical activity are also aimed at reducing the impact of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers. Sample priorities include: creating more opportunities for active transportation by increasing the availability of safe bike lanes and pedestrian walkways on area streets and increasing opportunities for children in the early care and school settings to be active and eat healthy. They depend on grants and donations from community partners to fund the WOTFV initiative.

Since 1952, the Wichita Crime Commission (WCC) has partnered with local, state, and federal agencies and citizens' groups engaged in the fight against crime. Their mission is promoting, fostering and encouraging greater interest by the public in the prevention of crime and the enforcement of criminal laws.

Today, the Wichita Crime Commission has a strong focus on young people. A Youth Court program (YC) has been implemented in seven Wichita high schools since 2009. This extraordinary program gives students hands-on experience in what takes place in a courtroom. YC helps high school students learn about the state and federal judicial system and provides training to become part of a court system within their schools to adjudicate minor issues involving fellow students. YC trains teenagers to serve as jurors, judges and advocates, handling real-life cases involving their peers. The goal of youth court is to use positive peer pressure to ensure that young people who have committed minor offenses learn accountability and repair the harm caused by their actions.
