Bolingbrook, IL
The Pioneer Elementary School Community's mission is to celebrate the exploration of new frontiers in lifelong learning while maximizing the development of each child's intellectual, physical, social and emotional potential in our ever-changing world. One example of students maximizing their potential is Pioneer Elementary School Kindness Day. Bolingbrook's Mayor Roger C. Claar first introduced the Pioneer Elementary School Kindness Day Proclamation on May 18, 2018 in honor of the extraordinary kindness Pioneer Elementary School students staff, and their families demonstrated to a young girl after her return to school from a near fatal illness that changed her life forever. This year Kindness Day will be celebrated at the school on May 17, 2019 and on May 18, 2019 in the community with various activities including the opportunity for the community to share messages of Kindness at the Fountaindale library's professional Studio 300 or online at https://fountaindale.org/kindness.
